Warranty Policy

MODERN PREOWNED WATCHES

Each modern preowned watch we sell will be backed by our own "The Timepiece Collection Ltd." warranty for a period of 1 year (12 months) from the date of sale. Our warranty covers mechanical failure with use under regular wearing conditions and battery replacement. Our warranty covers all parts and labor during the warranty period. For simple repairs we will have our in-house certified watchmaker repair the watch. For more complicated repairs the watch may need to be sent out to the manufacturer's service center. The Timepiece Collection Ltd. will have the sole discretion if a warranty repair shall be handled in-house or sent out to the manufacturer's service center. Any watch that has been opened, tampered with, serviced or attempted to be repaired by any source other than The Timepiece Collection Ltd. or its designated agent will void all warranties.

Our Modern Preowned 1 Year Warranty does not cover the following:

  • Wear and tear: general wear and tear, such as worn out leather straps, stains, anti-reflective coatings on crystals, etc.
  • Aesthetics: such as scratches, dings and other finish marks, etc.
  • Watch components: such as the crown, crystal, buckle, strap, links, etc.
  • Water resistance:
    • If the watch has been brought into contact with water exceeding the manufacturer's water resistant rating
    • If the watch has been submerged or is in contact with water while the crown has not been locked into the water-resistant position
    • If the chronograph buttons have been activated while the watch was submerged or in contact with water
  • Abuse: physical abuse, accidental or otherwise.

Vintage Preowned Watches

Each vintage preowned watch will backed by our own "The Timepiece Collection Ltd." warranty for a period of six months from the date of sale. Our warranty covers mechanical failure with use under regular wearing conditions and battery replacement. Our warranty covers all parts and labor during the warranty period. Vintage watches should not be exposed to water at all, thus we do not warranty water resistance issues on vintage watches. Please note that time-keeping accuracy and power reserves on vintage watches will not be the same as one could expect from a modern mechanical watch. We guarantee our preowned vintage watches to be in good working condition, to be keeping time within a reasonable accuracy expectation (typically, but not necessarily +/-30 seconds a day) and to have a reasonable power reserve as expected from a vintage watch (which greatly depends on the watch specs). Any watch that has been opened, tampered with, serviced or attempted to be repaired by any source other than The Timepiece Collection Ltd. or its designated agent will void all warranties.

Our Vintage Preowned 1 Year Warranty does not cover the following (but not limited to):

  • Wear and tear: general wear and tear, such as worn out leather straps, stains, anti-reflective coatings on crystals, etc.
  • Aesthetics: such as scratches, dings and other finish marks, etc.
  • Watch components: such as the crown, crystal, buckle, strap, links, etc.
  • Water resistance: a vintage watch should not be brought into any contact with water, thus we do not warranty water resistance issues.
  • Abuse: physical abuse, accidental or otherwise.
