WARRANTY - PREOWNED WATCHES
At The Timepiece Collection, we take pride in offering a wide selection of preowned watches that have been carefully curated and authenticated by our qualified watchmakers. We understand the importance of providing peace of mind to our customers when purchasing a preowned timepiece. To ensure your satisfaction and confidence in your investment, we offer the following in-house warranty policy:
Warranty Duration:
Each preowned watch advertised on our website will clearly display the warranty duration specific to that watch. The advertised warranty duration will be prominently featured alongside the watch's information and pricing.
• Modern Preowned Watches: All modern preowned watches purchased from The Timepiece Collection that are outside of the factory warranty period are covered by a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers any manufacturing defects or faults that may arise during normal use.
• Watches with Remaining Factory Warranty: Watches which have a factory warranty duration exceeding one year from the date of your purchase, the factory warranty takes precedence over The Timepiece Collection warranty. Watches with a remaining factory warranty of less than one year, the factory warranty takes precedence over The Timepiece Collection warranty until its expiration. Once the factory warranty expires, The Timepiece Collection warranty is in effect and provides coverage until the one-year anniversary of the purchase date.
• Vintage Watches: Vintage watches purchased from The Timepiece Collection are covered by a six-month warranty from the date of purchase. See notes below on accuracy & water resistance for vintage watches.
Accuracy for Vintage Watches:
When it comes to accuracy, expectations for vintage watches should be tempered due to factors such as age, condition, and the specific movement of the watch. Vintage mechanical watches may not provide the same level of precision as modern mechanical watches designed for optimal accuracy. Greater variations in timekeeping performance are common with vintage watches, and it is advisable to appreciate them for their historical and aesthetic value rather than expecting the same level of accuracy as newer timepieces. Regular maintenance and servicing can help maintain and improve the accuracy of vintage watches.
Water Resistance for Vintage Watches:
Water resistance is another aspect that needs careful consideration with vintage watches. Over time, the gaskets, seals, and other components responsible for ensuring water resistance may degrade or deteriorate. Consequently, the water resistance of a vintage watch cannot be guaranteed, even if it was originally designed to be water-resistant. It is generally recommended to avoid exposing vintage watches to water, as they may not offer the same level of protection as when they were new. If water resistance is a critical requirement, it is advisable to consult with a qualified watchmaker to assess the water resistance of a vintage watch before exposing it to moisture.
Warranty Exclusions:
Please note that the following examples are not an exhaustive list.
